Grains and legumes are listed on the suggested list but are not included in the super food video … just want to clarify! Also, are there any oils we should absolutely avoid? Are sesame and avocado oils okay? Chicken … can you give guidelines on how much is acceptable? Thank you!

Hey Carrie! Great question. The Superfood program is a much more restrictive program. Superfood fits inside of Nourishing You on a Venn diagram. When I created the Superfood program I valued reducing inflammation quite high on the outcome scale, and that level of restriction is quite good at reducing inflammation. As a little back story this is the 7th or 8th iteration of food/human interaction that I've shared.
What's been really fun about doing all of these, is I have biological data on varying levels of food restriction (type not quantity), and how those levels impact body metric changes. I also have analytical data on how 'sticky' (the duration of change) each program is. There is an inverse correlation between heightened levels of restriction and duration of change and this inverse correlation persists even if the biological changes are meeting/exceeding expectations. Meaning that for most of us, the pleasure we get out of consuming food, outweighs the pleasure we get from feeling healthier or looking how we want to look.
With this understanding, the Nourishing You program has been created to allow for the maximum amount of food choices, without limitations on taste, carbohydrate, fat, or protein consumption so that it can become an integrated part of your life, that fits within a healthy lifestyle that includes eating out, treats, work events, and anything else life might offer.
Sesame/avocado/olive/ and all the traditional oils are fully encouraged, and meat too anything that humans were consuming 100's of years ago, is a go. The key/trick is to check 'we' (the food industry) haven't added ingredients to our ancient foods that didn't exist at the time of origin.
